i have two black labs and they love having their packs on. as soon as i have them in my hand they start to go crazy, one of them even hands me the car keys. service dogs do like having something on their backs, they do enjoy it! ask any dog behavioralist. they do need to work for their tretas, it’s not just about fun and games.

A backpack for a walk around town is uncessisary and pointless But I go backpacking with my dog a lot. And everyone needs to carry a little of their own weight - I got my dog a backpack a while back but when I put it on him before the trail, the backpack was unable to securly fasten up so its taught with his body. It soon feel off of him to which I transfered everything to mine and ditched it so I could get it when I came back through. I think I just need to spend more money on one?

I feel sorry for your dog. I’m guessing you have a little dog and you’ll just put your tampons in it & then carry your dog in your purse.

Ryan! News flash: a dogs DO NOT need a BACKPACK to be “challenged” or to help them feel they are “serving a purpose.” And using a pack with such in mind is, well, stupid and lazy (sorry, dude, no other way to put it)!

Moreover, the pack youre using in the vid is inappropriate. The saddles hang below the dogs ribcage, making consistent load stability (in motion) unachievable.

Horrible how to video. You’re not explaining one of the most important safety issues; Weight & displacement.

Are you going to were that douche bag attire while walking them?

This would be a much more helpful video with information on fitting the pack, teaching the dog to accept the pack (not all dogs take to packing right away), how to condition a dog to carry more weight, and safety tips to avoid injuring your dog. Also, judging by tail, ear and head position, this dog does not look particularly happy about the interaction or the pack.
